Welcome to the web site of Grace Lutheran Church in Bowie, Maryland! As the Interim Pastor of Grace, I look forward to meeting you! I think that you will find, as I did, that Grace is a very welcoming place peopled by warm and friendly people.

If you’re not familiar with the term "interim pastor", you might be wondering what that means!? Experience has shown that after a long pastorate (Pastor Al Erickson recently retired after 42 faithful years at Grace, Bowie) it is usually a good and healthy thing to have an interim pastor assist the People of God to discern their future mission and ministry in a new dynamic for a new time in the life of the congregation. In consultation with the congregational leadership team, the Bishop of the Metropolitan Washington D.C. Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America appointed me to be the interim for Grace for the next year. While I am serving as Pastor, the call committee will be engaged in the call process for a new Pastor.

Whether you are a long time resident of Bowie, newly arrived or simply a sojourner or a student, we would love to have you join us in worship, fellowship and service here at Grace Lutheran Church!
