Yarn Crafters is composed of people who love to crochet or knit, or would like to learn how. The purposes of the group are: to promote the hand arts of crochet and knitting among yarn crafters at all levels of experience, from novice to advanced, to provide warm handmade items to give away to those in physical or spiritual need, and to provide a supportive and encouraging place for people of all ages to develop their creativity and their personal gifts. The group meets on the second and fourth Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thanks to many donations of yarn and needles, group members make items to give away at no cost to themselves. Group members make whatever project suits their interests and abilities. Finished projects include baby afghans, adult afghans, adult and baby hats, scarves, socks, sweaters, vests, afghan rectangles, face cloths, and prayer shawls. The group donates finished times to established charitable causes and to individuals in our community. One does not need to be a member of Grace to participate in this group. All who are interested in the mission of yarn crafters are welcome!
Quilts of Love meets on the 2nd and the 4th Saturdays of the month from 9:00 a.m. - noon. The group makes quilts for children with terminal illnesses. The group works with Sara's house and Ronald McDonald House.
Warm Nights and homeless ministries are at the heart of Grace's mission. Throughout the year the pastor and members of the congregation visit local homeless and underemployed people to befriend them and walk alongside of them. The congregation also hosts a week long hypothermia shelter called Warm nights where the guests are fed and given a warm place to sleep.
